Martha Veltri, 83, of Washington passed away Tuesday November 7, 2017 in her home.

An overwhelming faith in God help guide her in all of her decisions through her life.

She was born May 3, 1934 in Smilno, Czechoslovakia the daughter of the late John and Anna Anderek Tomik .  At the age of three, she emigrated to the United States with her father and joined her mother who had came earlier to work.

Mrs. Veltri was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church and was very active with the Christian Mothers of the church and volunteered for all church functions.

Pennsylvania Transformer in Canonsburg employed her as a clerk in their credit department.  She also worked for a brief time at Brockway Glass Company in Washington.

She was a Christian Mother and enjoyed volunteering at St. Hilary Church, but most of all enjoyed spending time with family.

On August 24, 1956 in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington, she married Paul Veltri who passed away July 12, 2010.

Surviving are three children John Paul Veltri of Grand Rapids, MI, Paula Ann (Joseph Giambelluca) Veltri of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Mark Francis (Linda Hale) Veltri of Robinson Township.

Also surviving are two sisters Mary Ann Shogan of Levittown, PA and Florence (Anthony) Azzardi of Scenery Hill, PA and two brothers John Tomik of Haddenfield, NJ and William (Carolyn) Tomik of Rainbow City, AL and three grandchildren Meghan Veltri, Vincent Veltri and Gabriella Veltri and one great grandson Robert “RJ” Clawges.  Also surviving are sisters in law Julietta Veltri, Margaret Veltri, Angelina Veltri, Virginia Adamsky, Dolores Wilson and Ellie Veltri, brothers in law Victor Veltri, Michael Veltri, Allan Adamsky and Henry Wilson and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers in law Louis Shogan, Anthony Brovey, Pietro Veltri and Eugene Veltri and a sister in law Deborah Veltri.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Friday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Ave. in Washington.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday November 11, 2017 in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church at 320 Henderson Ave. in Washington.   Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Washington.
