Passing along his passion for music, cooking and gardening to his children brought a great deal of peace to Robert J. Paletta.

Robert J. Paletta, 59, of Washington passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 1, 2016 in his home.

He was born October 30, 1956 in Washington the son of the late Joseph and Marcella E. Piniecki Paletta.

He enjoyed collecting comic books of which he acquired a vast collection of since early childhood.

Mr. Paletta was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Washington; Class of 1974.

 

Over the years Mr. Paletta received training in culinary arts. He held positions at J.W. Marriott in Washington D.C., Titusville Country Club, The LeMonte Restaurant, Genaldo’s Italian Restaurant in Canonsburg, as Sous Chef at St. Clair Country Club, Lou Kerri’s Restaurant, and as a chef at the Washington County Health Center.

For fifteen years he delivered the Post Gazette newspaper in the Canonsburg area and became well known by his customers on his routes and people employed in circulation.

On December 31, 1981 he married Carol Ozarowsky who survives.

He enjoyed a close relationship with his four children Anthony R. Paletta of Brooklyn, NY, Alexandria N. Paletta of Arlington, TX, Anastasia M. Paletta of Pittsburgh and Angelica M. Paletta of Pittsburgh.

Surviving is a brother Joseph M. Paletta of Washington, and his aunts Thelma and Emma Paletta both of Washington. 

He was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

All are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in memory of Marcella E. Paletta who died July 20, 2016 and her son Robert J. Paletta who died October 1, 2016 on Saturday October 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church at 320 Henderson Ave. in Washington with Father Thomas D. O’Neil as celebrant.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements are in the care of DeAngelo Funeral Home in Washington.  A guestbook is available at www.deangelocare.com.
