Ruth Ahwesh of Canonsburg, PA aged 91 passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 19, 2017.

Ruth was born September 28, 1925 the daughter of Freda and Salim Ahwesh.   She was strong in her faith and lived that faith every day.   This started at the Chapel in East Canonsburg where she was a mainstay as a longtime church school teacher and even arrived early every Sunday to turn up the furnace or open the windows.  A Deacon and a lifelong member of Canonsburg UP Church, she was also a vibrant part of the congregations and Bible study groups of the Hill Church UP and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Canonsburg.

Ruth was always active.  She worked for three decades at Kaufmann's mostly in the book department downtown.  She also worked at Giant Eagle for many years.  Ruth lived her faith through service and together with her sister May, were tirelessly devoted to the Canonsburg-Houston Area Meals on Wheels.

Beloved sister to May and aunt to Ellen, Elaine (Frank), Jean, Sally (Russell), Mary Beth (Borroni), Michael, Lynn (Thieblemont), David, Michael, Peggy, and Phil.  Ruth had 17 grand nieces and nephews who were all precious to her as well as several great-grand nieces and nephews.   Preceding her in death were brothers Mageed, Phil, Sam, Norman, David, John and a sister, sweet Gracie.

Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to Canonsburg-Houston Area Meals on Wheels program or to any of the three churches.  Donations to the Canonsburg-Houston Area Meals on Wheels can be sent to Meals on Wheels at First United Methodist Church, 121 N. Main Street, Houston, PA 15342.

Arrangements are entrusted to Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, Canonsburg, PA.  There will be no visitation.  The family will be inviting close friends and family
to join them at a private memorial service on a date to be determined.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." (2Tim 4:7-8)
