Walter Gregorczyk, 71, of Canonsburg died Wednesday February 1, 2017 in his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born June 12, 1945 in Cecil the son of Anthony and Anna Almade Gregorczyk.

He loved working on sports cars and hotrods, gardening, remodeling, and construction projects and spending time with his family.

General motors employed him as a die maker and on the assembly line.  He was also a self-employed contractor and helped many with various home projects for several decades.

He was a member of South Canonsburg Church.

On November 18, 1973 in South Canonsburg Church, he married Patricia J. Horner who survives.

Surviving are four children Jennifer A. (Richard) Loar of Washington, Christina M. (Scott Allen) Gregorczyk of Spartanburg, SC, Edward D. (Christy Africa) Gregorczyk of Canonsburg and Kelly E. (Carlos Franell) Gregorczyk of Canonsburg, four sisters Shirley Rankin if Grand Rapids, MI, Nancy (Mark) Patterson of Canonsburg, Rosemary (Brad) Behanna of Strabane and Virginia (Melvin) Conklin of Canonsburg and three brothers Joseph “Sonny” (Virginia) Zambella of Wilmington, NC, Chester (June) Pesto of Southview, and Edward (Jamie) Gregorczyk of Strabane. 

Also surviving are his grandchildren Kayla and Nathan Loar, Seth Higgins, Laya Gregorczyk, Jasmine, Hannah and Jordan Franell, Brice Gregorczyk and one great granddaughter Arielle Loar, step-grandchildren Brooklyn and Austin Myers and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Alexander “Junior” Pesto.

Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Sunday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College Street in Canonsburg.

Additional visitation will be held from 12 -1 p.m. Monday February 6, 2017 in South Canonsburg Church at 12 South Central Avenue in Canonsburg where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m Monday February 6, 2017.  Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery in Canonsburg.
