Stella Gross Doraniuk, 97, formerly of Trafford and Pitcarin, passed away on Saturday March 9, 2024, at Arden Courts in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, PA. She was born May 8, 1926, in Wall, PA and was the daughter of the late Steve and Adolfa (Wierbitsky) Gross.
Stella was a Master Seamstress who retired from JC Penney. She enjoyed playing the harmonica and was a member of the “Harmonicats” at the Turtle Creek Senior Citizen Center. She was also a member of the American Legion #331 in Trafford.
Stella was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Regis Catholic Church in Trafford.
She was the last of her immediate family, preceded in death by her husband, William Doraniuk, and her brothers, Joseph (Ann) Gross, Peter Gross, Stephen (Dolores) Gross and her sisters, Nellie (Martin) Roth and Mary (George) Kalocay, and her dear friends, Edward and Mary Gallery. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lenole Gross, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank the caring staff at Arden Courts and Hartland Hospice who took extraordinary care of Stella and treated her as a member of their family.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday March 13th, 2024, at 10:30 AM at St. Regis Church in Trafford, followed by interment at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in North Versailles. Visitation for friends and family will be in the church, one hour prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that Catholic masses be requested in her name.
