Amil Stanley Hodor

Amil Stanley Hodor, 96, Passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday morning, Feb. 21, 2018 surrounded by family members.  

Amil is from Washington, PA, born April 27, 1921 in Vestaburg, PA.  He is the son of the late Stanley Hodor and Nellie Hodor of Washington, PA who emigrated from Poland.   He was married in Holy Trinity Church in 1942 to Gertrude Macanga of Meadowlands, PA who survives.   He was a World War II Army War Veteran.  He retired as an employee at Washington Steel Corporation.  He also constructed several homes in the area. 

Surviving are three children, Edward Hodor (Wife Paula) of 84, PA, and twins - Don Hodor (Wife Geri) of Southpointe and Donna Carl (Husband Fred) of Pickerington, OH. 

Surviving are 6 grandchildren, Jeffrey Hodor (Wife Cindy) of Annapolis, MD,   Kellie Hagerman (Husband Mike) of Canonsburg, PA,  Christie Hodor of Annapolis, MD,  Shawn Carl of Pickerington, OH,  Kristin Kemp (Husband Justin) of  Pickerington, OH and Elana Slagle of OH. 

Great grandchildren are Brendan Hagerman, Isabella Hagerman and Caden Hagerman of Canonsburg PA, Marin Hodor and Channing Hodor of Annapolis, MD,  and Kylah Kemp & Alina Kemp of OH. 

Deceased is his sister, Mildred Ziemba of Monongahela, PA.  Deceased at birth are twin brother Joseph, and sister Mary Hodor.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Sunday February 25, 2018 in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington.  Services will be held 10:15 AM Monday, February 26, 2018 at Holy Trinity National Catholic Church at 605 Hewitt Avenue Washington, PA. Mass will be celebrated by Father Mark Swoger.  Following will be full military honors by the United States Army and the American Legion Post #175 of Washington. In lieu of flowers Amil asked for donations to be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 605 Hewitt Ave.  Washington, PA 15301.
