John Vernon Coen, Jr., 39, of North Strabane Township passed away Tuesday January 23, 2018 in his home due to complications of a lengthy and chronic heart disorder.
He was born May 17, 1978 in Pittsburgh the son of the late John Vernon Coen, Sr. and Mary M. Gleba Coen of Cecil Township.
Mr. Coen was employed as a groundskeeper at Mayview State Hospital until it’s closing in 2010.
He enjoyed riding four wheeler quads, fishing and playing video games with his son. The most important thing to him in his life was the love of his wife, mother and son.
On July 31, 2010 in Canonsburg, he married Sally A. Schwartz Coen who survives.
Surviving is his son Jacob H. Coen at home. Also surviving is a brother Ryan Coen of Canonsburg and a cousin James J. Berton.
Deceased are his maternal grandparents Joseph and Mary Gleba and his paternal grandparents Herman and Palma June Coen and a brother Christopher Coen.
Friends will be received from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College Street in Canonsburg. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. Friday immediately following the visitation with Pastor Pat Schaefer officiating.
Cremation services will be provided at a later date.
