Robert D. Strawn, 67, of Washington passed away unexpectedly on Friday December 22, 2017.

He was born November 21, 1950 in Canonsburg the son of the late Paul R. and Ruth Frazee Strawn.

Mr. Strawn was a graduate of Canon McMillan High School.  Following High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War.

He enjoyed photography and music and listened to classic rock, especially the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan.  Mr. Strawn was employed as a psychiatric aid at Woodville State Hospital and then Mayview State Hospital until his retirement in 2005.

On September 2, 1977 in Washington, PA he married Mary L. Vojtek who passed away April 8, 2010.

Surviving is a son Brian (Danita M. Candler) Strawn of Clayton, OH; a grand daughter Ella Marie Strawn of Greenville, OH; and two brothers Raymond (Vicki) Strawn of Canonsburg and Roland Strawn of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Paul R. Strawn and Richard Strawn.

Friends will be received from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Friday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Ave. in Washington where a eulogy will be provided at 8:00  p.m. Friday by his son Brian.

Interment will be held in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors by the United States Army and the American Legion Post #175 of Washington at 9:00 a.m. Saturday December 30, 2017.  If attending, please meet at the cemetery funeral procession staging area at 8:45 a.m.
