Abbey Renee Rhoades, 35, of South Franklin Township passed away Monday November 15, 2021 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born September 9, 1986 in Washington the daughter of Jack R. Rhoades, Jr. of Washington and the late Sharon A. Steele, Rhoades.
Abbey loved music, the outdoors, camping, fishing and swimming. She also enjoyed gardening and chicken farming; and the bartering that went along with that.
She enjoyed volunteering as a food bank worker in Prosperity and donated her time as a caregiver to people in need.
TRIPL and Help at Home employed her as a caregiver for about six years.
Surviving is her father Jack R., Jr. (Drema) Rhoades of Washington; a son Rusty Shane DeBolt, Jr., her sisters Burnadette (Eric) Rhoades-Allen and April Rhoades both of Washington; her step sister Tiffany (Joel) Meyers of Meadowlands and a step brother Ricky Howard of Washington. Also surviving is her third grandmother Phyllis Rhoades of Thornville, OH, and her nieces and nephews Emily Affolter, Justin Allen, Joseph Allen, Jacob Allen, Layla DeBolt, and Hadley DeBolt and a great niece Kathryn Affolter and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death in addition to her mother by her grandparents William and Emma Mull Steele and Jack Ray , Sr. and Elizabeth Junkins Rhoades and her son’s father Rusty Shane DeBolt, Sr.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington. A eulogy will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday November 22, 2021 in the funeral home followed by interment in Washington Cemetery.
