Love of her faith, family, and heritage were most important to Eleanor Manfredi.
Assunta Eleanor Manfredi of Washington passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday December 10, 2022 surrounded by loving family.
She was born August 15, 1923, a daughter of the late Antonio and Carmel Tarantino D’Amico in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Manfredi was a graduate of St. Paul Cathedral High School Class of 1942.
She was a member of St. Hilary Church in Washington.
Mrs. Manfredi was also a member of the Senior Citizens of Houston. She loved to crochet, get her hair done at Studio 7, make the “best” meatballs for family, and loved the Pirates and Steelers.
Prior to her marriage, she worked at Magee Hospital for five years.
On September 13, 1947 in St. Paul Cathedral, she married Salvatore (Sam) Manfredi who died on April 1, 2014.
Surviving are five children, Patsy (Kris) Manfredi, Carol Manfredi, Salvatore “Sam” (Cheryl) Manfredi, Mary Louise Manfredi, all of Washington, and Paul Manfredi of Greentree. Also surviving are four grandchildren Gina (Mike) Zacios, Michael Manfredi, Jared (Stephanie) Manfredi, and Ethan (Lexi Tatano) Manfredi; five great grandchildren, Anthony Manfredi, Aubrie Zacios, Luna Manfredi, Skylar Manfredi, and Giavanna Manfredi, several nieces and nephews and a sister in law Evelyn (Bill) Sovick.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, a sister Rosemarie D’Amico and three brothers PaulD’Amico, Emidio D’Amico, and John D’Amico.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington. Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 15, 2022 in St. Hilary Church in Washington. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Hilary Church or to a charity of your choice.
