Charles Walter Dunn
Charles Walter Dunn, 78, of Canonsburg passed away Wednesday November 4, 2015 in Consulate Health Care in North Strabane Township.
He was born March 17, 1937 in Canonsburg the son of the late Charles Howard and Mary Helen Smith Dunn.
Mr. Dunn was a member of the Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church in Canonsburg where he sang tenor in the church choir. He was also a member of the Washington Community Chorus.
During the early 1960’s Mr. Dunn served in the US Army National Guard.
He was a member of the Knights of Pythias. Along with his close friend Don Hutchinson, he performed a lip sink comedy act called “Silent Knights” since high school.
He loved camping and was an all around handyman who enjoyed carpentry work.
Hankinson Corporation in Canonsburg employed him as an Accounting Clerk for thirty-six years.
On September 1, 1961 in Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church he married his wife of fifty-four years, Cora Mersino Dunn.
Surviving is a daughter Carol D. Dunn Kaminsky of Cecil Township, two brothers Thomas A. (Linda) Dunn of Canonsburg and Stephen P. (Kaye) Dunn of Colorado and a sister Marie (David) Hornyak of Canonsburg.
Also surviving are three grandchildren Chelsea Marie Dunn, Nicholas J. Kaminsky and Charles Marshall Dunn, several nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt Margie Smith.
A daughter Mary Ann Dunn who died during childbirth and a son Charles William Dunn preceded him in death.
Friends will be received from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Sunday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College Street in Canonsburg. Funeral Services will be officiated by Pastor Don Coleman at 1:00 p.m. Monday November 9, 2015 in Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church at 112 West Pike Street in Canonsburg. If attending the service, please meet at the church.
