Delma H. “Bunny” O’Donnell, 76, a Resident of St. Barnabas Assisted Living and formerly of Hickory and Canonsburg passed away Tuesday January 30, 2018.
She was born July 15, 1941 in Houston the daughter of Herman and Delma Dove Cutright Hollenbach.
She was a graduate of Chartiers Houston High.
Mrs. O’Donnell was employed as a secretary by US Steel Corp. in Pittsburgh for thirty-five years retiring in 2000. Following retirement she was also employed by Weavertown Environmental for nine years.
She was a very active member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg and St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington. She was a lector, Eucharistic Minister, member of the Christian Mothers, and taught CCD. Mrs. O’Donnell was the secretary of the Diocese of Pittsburgh Holy Name Society for several years.
She enjoyed participating in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
Floral gardening and spending time with her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy in her life.
On November 27, 1976 she married Patrick O’Donnell who passed away August 5, 1986.
Surviving are three children Karen Hamilton of Mount Alto, Colleen (Jeff) Bozic of Midway and Brian (Tara) O’Donnell of Charlotte, NC and seven grandchildren Lindsey Gavazzi, Johnna Campbell, Matthew Campbell, Haley (Rocco) Alati, Shawn O’Donnell, Brooke O’Donnell and Brian O’Donnell II.
Also surviving is a brother Gary (Barbara) Hollenbach of Houston, a sister in law Dolores Hollenbach of Streetsboro, OH, and ssix great grandchildren; Paige, Aayden, Kiliana, Aryana, Jaxson and James Jr. and several nieces.
She was preceded in death by a son Patrick “Shawn” O’Donnell, her brothers and sisters Jacob “Buck” Hollenbach, Sheila Kosem, Dorothy Telesko, a brother Peter Hollenbach during early childhood and a sister Mary Virginia Barringer.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Ave. in Washington. Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Friday February 2, 2018 in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. Interment will following in Mount Prospect Cemetery in Hickory.
