Delores Jean (Bauer) Gilmore

Delores Jean Bauer Gilmore, 95, of Washington passed away Sunday March 9, 2025.

She was born January 25, 1930 in Washington a daughter of the late Gust and Bessie Welch Bauer.

Mrs. Gilmore was a homemaker who devoted her life to her faith and family.

She was a lifelong member of St. Hilary Church in Washington where she was an active participant in many church functions.  She was a devoted member of the Christian Mothers, organized the church retreats and travel club, organized the fish fries, funeral luncheons, was a teachers aid at St. Hilary (Controlled reading program), and Den Mother for Boy Scouts.  She enjoyed the church travel trips for Steelers away games.

On September 5, 1955 in St. Hilary Church, she married Walter Reed Gilmore who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her three children; Judith Ann (Dirk) Dreistadt of Washington, Dennis (Betty Jane) Gilmore of Washington and Brian (Kathy) Gilmore of Mt. Lebanon.  Surviving are her grandchildren Ethan, Sylvia, Brandon, Cassandra, Amanda, Emily and Danielle and seven great grandchildren; Lizzy, Lukas, Wells, Stetson, Gavin, Emily and Melissa.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Mary Rizzo, Margaret Citro, George Bauer, James Bauer, Charles Bauer and Sister M. Beatrice Bauer.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington.  Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 Friday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday March 14, 2025 in St. Hilary Church in Washington.
