Dolores Jean DelBene

Dolores Jean DelBene, 75, a resident of Broadmore Senior Living in Bridgeville, formerly of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully on Friday February 19, 2016.

She was born June 21, 1940 in Canonsburg the daughter of Steve and Mary Sedlitsky Kotyk.

Mrs. DelBene was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.

She was a graduate of Canonsburg High School class of 1958 where she was a flutist in the band, and a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing.

Mrs. DelBene was a member of the Canonsburg Heritage Group.

Mrs. DelBene was employed by Dr. Eugene Urso, Dr. Mary Cavasina and Allegheny Health Network from where she retired in 2005.

She was an artist and did beautiful oil paintings and drawings.

On August 22, 1964 in St. Patrick Church in Canonsburg, she married Charles E. DelBene who preceded her in death.

Surviving is a sister Lillian (Joseph) Cherenko of Valencia and a brother Daniel S. (Karen) Kotyk of South Park.  Also surviving is a niece Kristen Keegan and two nephews Daniel Kotyk and Jeff Amoroso and several nieces, nephews, aunts  and cousins and the staff at Broadmore Assisted Living who became her very dear friends.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College Street in Canonsburg.  Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Monday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Monday February 22, 2016 in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg.  Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
