Dr. Ephraim C. “Effie” Imperio, MD., 92, of Chartiers Township, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday January 15, 2020.
He was born September 21, 1927 in Caloocan City in the Philippines the son of the late Dr. Rogaciano and Juanita Imperio.
Dr. Imperio was a self employed anesthesiologist and practiced in Wheeling until his retirement in 1994.
He was a gourmet cook and loved to cook for his family and friends. An avid photographer, many of his photos graced the walls of his family and friends.
Everyone who knew Effie always came to the realization that he was the kindest man that they ever knew.
On November 17, 1990 in Wheeling, WV, he married Denise Bertus who resides in Meadow Lands.
Surviving are three children; Edith Jaranilla of Walnut, CA, Fe (OV) Demiar of Grand View Washington and Ephraim A. (Shadie) Imperio of Palm Desert, CA.
Also surviving are two sisters in law; Marion Murray of Wheeling, WV and Judy (John) Petricca, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is his brother Dr. Napolean (Juanita) Imperio.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Home Care (Nurses Jen and Dee), and physical therapists (Ernie and Ron) and a heartfelt thank you to Concordia Hospice.
At Effie’s request, visitation and services will be held in private.
