Edward Jacob Siedlak, 91, of Washington passed away Sunday April 25, 2021.
He was born July 27, 1929 in Washington a son of Jacob and Bronislawa Brzezanska Siedlak.
Mr. Siedlak attended Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Washington. He spent many years volunteering at the church lenten fish fries. He played on the church dartball team for many years.
He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and sports fan of Pirates Baseball, Steelers Football and Penguins Hockey. He enjoyed annual fishing trips to Canada with family and friends.
Union Camp Paper, which later became International Paper, employed him as a papermill worker for forty years.
On December 25, 1951 in St. Hilary Church, he married Helen A. Olesky Siedlak with whom he recently celebrated sixty-nine years of marriage. They took wonderful vacations throughout the US including Alaska and Hawaii, and traveled to many countries including the Holy Land, Italy, Australia, Ecuador, Morocco, Iceland, and the Caribbean.
In addition to his wife Helen, he is survived by two sons; Edward (Catherine) Siedlak of Westerville, Ohio and Dennis (Sandra Lee) Siedlak of Willoughby Hills, Ohio and six grandchildren; Joe (Ashley) Siedlak, Andrew Siedlak, Leigh Siedlak, Emily (Francisco Martinez) Siedlak, Dennis (Tian) Siedlak, and Sarah Siedlak.
He was preceded in death by four sisters; Mary Zawacki, Sophie Earnest, Ann Abajace, and Antoinette Bier and his twin brother Ted Siedlak.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday April 30, 2021 in Immaculate Conception Church in Washington.
Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the American Legion Post #175 Honor Guard.
