Garry R. Shaw

“Enjoyed spending time with family.”

Garry R. Shaw, 59, of Cowansville passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 17, 2016 in his home.

He was born September 14, 1956 in Venice, FL the son of Harry “Ray” and Elizabeth A. Maticka Shaw who reside in Avon Park, FL.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and served toward the end of the Vietnam Conflict

Mr. Shaw was a Christian who was a talented artist, enjoying drawing and painting.  He also enjoyed fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother Martin E. (Peggy) Shaw of Newell, WV, and two sisters Janet M. (Ralph) Farabee of Claysville and Terri L. (Ron) Franks of Washington. 

Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews; Billie Jo Shaw, Elizabeth Gonzalez, R.J. Franks, Jillian Somerville, Nathan Franks, Sam Farabee and Zack Franks; and four great nephews Alex Miles, Andy Gonzalez, Brendan Miles and Jonah Somerville and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

At the request of the family arrangements are private.  Plans for a memorial service are being made for a later date. 

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Mechling-Shakley Veterans Center, where he lived for the past several years, at 1413 State Route 268 Cowansville, PA 16218.
