Gregory Peter Sakovich, 72, of Canonsburg passed away on Friday May 5, 2023 in UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born February 4, 1951 in Canonsburg a son of the late Peter and Mary Holowich Sakovich.
Mr. Sakovich was a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church of Canonsburg.
He was an avid golfer and was a member of the White Eagles Golf League. He also enjoyed bowling and was a member of the SNPJ bowling League.
Mr. Sakovich was a member of the Russian Brotherhood Organization (RBO) in Canonsburg and worked at the Pepsi Road House.
Stockman Printing and then Clore Printing employed him as a typesetter.
Surviving is a sister Anita (the late brother-in-law Gabriel “Sonny”) Prince and a brother Timothy (Debbie) Sakovich.
Also surviving are six nieces and nephews Gabor Prince, Marcie (Michael) Killmeyer, Valerie Larson, Peter (Cassi) Sakovich, Jessica (Jonathan) Inman, and Robert (Amanda) Sakovich; three great nephews and nine great nieces. He is also leaves behind his best friend Terry Adams.
Friends will be received from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday May 10, 2023 in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church at 601 Boone Avenue in Canonsburg. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday May 11, 2023 in St. John’s Church with Father John Kotalik. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery in Canonsburg.
