Helen DuCarme

Helen DuCarme, 93 a lifelong resident of Canonsburg died Wednesday May 13, 2015 at ManorCare in Peters Township.

She was born February 10, 1922 in Canonsburg the daughter of Anthony and Mary DiSalle Mark.

Mrs. DuCarme was a graduate of Canonsburg High School.

She was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church in Canonsburg.

For more than thirty years she volunteered at Canonsburg Hospital. She along with her friends had a card club for sixty-one years.

Mrs. DuCarme also volunteered with the US Army 841st Army Engineers, which her husband served with, helping to plan reunions and other activities.

Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her grandchildren.

Along with her husband she co-owned Western Auto, a hardware store in Canonsburg, for several decades.

On July 26, 1952 she married Elmer R. DuCarme who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters Sherry (Jeff Crummie) DuCarme of Venetia, Sandra (Salvatore) Campo of Greenbrae, CA and a son Richard (Anne) DuCarme of McMurray.  Also surviving are six grandchildren Laura and Amy Crummie-DuCarme, Alexander and Zachary Campo and Benjamin and Kate DuCarme and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.

As the last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by five sisters Sue Palumbo, Rose Mark, Adeline Tirimacco, Edith Mark and Hilda Westphal and six brothers Albert Mark, Guy Mark, Mario Mark, Leonard Mark, Norman Marks and Walter Mark.

Friends will be received from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College St. in Canonsburg.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 16, 2015 in Mario L. DeAngelo funeral Home with Rev. Don Coleman officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens in McMurray, PA.
