Helen Marie (Steele) Stilwell

Helen Marie Stilwell, 78, of Marianna passed away peacefully on Saturday July 29, 2023.

She was born February 8, 1945 in Washington a daughter of the late William and Emma Mull Steele.

Mrs. Stilwell was a homemaker who liked to knit and crochet, and do jigsaw puzzles.  She loved reading and watching her reality shows and loved to spend time with her dog “Lady”.

On August 24, 1968 in Washington, she married John David Stilwell who survives.

Surviving are five children; Donna (David) Locy, Charles Stilwell, Susan (Albert) Cursi, Sara (David) Santi and David (Melissa) Stilwell.  Also surviving are her siblings Martha J. Caldwell of Westland, William E. “Elmer” Steele of Washington and Karen Killmeyer of Washington, fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister Sharon Rhoades, two brothers Robert L. and John W. Steele and two grandsons Jacob and David Locy.

Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 2, 2023 in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington.  Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Sue Petritis officiating.

Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
