James Arthur Glendenning, 78, of Canton Township passed away on Friday March 18, 2022.
He was born August 26, 1943 in Taylorstown a son of the late Randall and Ethel Iams Glendenning.
Mr. Glendenning was a member of Trinity Bible Fellowship and enjoyed reading the bible and discussing the Scriptures.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was very active in youth baseball. He played softball and baseball for several years and was drafted by minor league baseball. He also loved to go shopping.
Mr. Glendenning was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the 101st Airborne Division and was a longtime member of the American Legion Post #175 in Washington.
On February 17, 1961 in Washington, he married Patricia Louise Eakin who passed away June 7, 2010.
Surviving are three children Donald Jay (Charl) Glendenning of Graysville, Michael (Jaime) Glendenning of Washington and Michelle (Richard) Gontas of Washington, and his significant other, Donna Oliverio of Washington.
Also surviving are a sister Ethel (John “Red”) Molinaro of Washington, eleven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren, a daughter in law Cathy Glendenning, and two sisters-in-law Bonnie Glendenning, and Nellie Glendenning.
Deceased is a son Jamie Glendenning and brothers and sisters John (Joyce) Glendenning, Harry Glendenning, Randall Glendenning, David Glendenning, Gerry (Harold) Pryor, Martha “Jeanie” (Chuck) Provance, Kathryn (Harold) Plants, Anna Marie Reese, Leona Glendenning, and two grand-daughters Nicole Finney and Leah Glendenning.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington where funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday with Rev. Sue Petritis officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Cecil Township. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army and the American Legion Post #175 Honor Guard.
