James V. Magnone, 91, of Washington died Sunday June 14, 2015 in Washington Health System.  For the past several years he resided at Transitions Health Care (Humbert Lane).

He was born June 28, 1923 in Washington the son of Joseph and Jennie DeSensi Magnone.

He was a long time member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington where he was an usher for many years and volunteered for various church events.

During his youth, he attended Washington Public Schools.

He was an avid football fan, attending Wash High football games, W&J football games and was a longtime season ticket holder for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Mr. Magnone retired from Lightning Express Trucking and was a member of the Teamsters Union.  He was also a member of the ISDA Alpine Lodge in Washington.

Surviving are two sisters Rose Magnone of Washington and Marianne (Donald) Kuzy of Marietta, OH, a sister-in-law Mary Ann Magnone of Washington.

Also surviving are his nieces and nephews Eric (Carla) Magnone, David (Mary) Kuzy, Michael Kuzy, and Cheryl (Clyde) Albert, Lori Freeze, great nephews and great nieces Mark Magnone, Neil Freeze, Anthony Magnone, Steven Kuzy, Vincent Magnone, David Albert, Lisa (Mark) Coyle, Jessica Freeze, Alyssa Magnone,  and Sarah Kuzy.

Also surviving are many nieces and nephews in the Carney Family and two step-sons Greg (Nancy) Riggle and Eric (Shirley) Riggle and their children and grandchildren.

Deceased in addition to his parents are his first wife Norma Jean Bissett Magnone and his second wife Lillian R. Riggle Magnone, two brothers Neil J. (Helen) Magnone and Robert A. Magnone and nephew Joseph R. (Jean) Magnone.

Friends will be received from 3:00 to 7:00 Tuesday in Dale D. Deangelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Ave. in Washington.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 17, 2015 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington.  Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to John F. Kennedy Scholarship Fund or a charity of one’s choice.
