Jane Ellen Mikuta, 70, of Washington passed away Saturday May 23, 2026 in Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 16, 1956 in Canonsburg a daughter of the late Stanley R. and Marjorie R. Lawrence Mikuta.
Jane graduated Canon McMillan High School in 1973 and then trained to become a Medical Assistant at Median Medical School.
Over the years she worked at Gabriel Brothers, Pizza Hut and Murphy’s Mart.
She enjoyed helping her brother Daniel arrange flowers at his flower shop in Pittsburgh. She also enjoyed calligraphy and had a lot of fun raising chickens and thrifting.
Surviving is a brother Lawrence (Sandra) Mikuta of Stockton, NJ and two sisters Becky (John) Coulter of Avella and Kathryn Hess of Washington.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews Eric (Kelly)Ozelski, Alisha (Carl Jason) Martin, Dana Hess, Brittany (Jonathan) Jacobovitz, Trinity, Marjorie and Ruth Mikuta and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by a brother Daniel Mikuta and a brother-in-law Dallas Hess.
A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 noon on Saturday July 11, 2026 in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, Inc. at 194 East College Street in Canonsburg. Funeral services will be held immediately following the gathering at 12:00 in the funeral home with Father Mark Swoger officiating. Burial will be follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
