Jay Kerwin Parker

Jay Kerwin Parker, 72, of Washington passed away on Monday August 10, 2026 at his home after a brief illness.

He was born on September 3, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio a son of the late James Franklin and Geraldine Harriet Wade Parker.

Jay was methodist and a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Washington, PA.

He was a champion Chess player, liked walking and would jog when he was younger.   He was in the Chessman’s Club for several years and played often at W&J College.

He enjoyed making his delicious homemade waffles for family members when they came to visit and also baking his homemade Tollhouse cookies on the holidays.

He attended Sixth Ward Grade School and graduated from Washington High School Class of 1971.  He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1978. 

He worked in customer service related jobs within his community all of his working life.

Surviving is a sister Diana Francine Parker James of Cleveland Ohio, his niece Lesley Ashford of Cleveland, his great niece and nephew Lauren Ashford of Cleveland and Perez Ashford, Jr. of San José, California.  Also surviving are cousins Linda Wade, Angela Wade, Eric Wade, Phyllis Wade Jackson, Debra Clark Metoyer, Lansing MI and Jeffrey Clark, of California and a host of beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his beloved brother Gary Nathan Parker.

All arrangements are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. 

Gone Away
