Jean Pittman Obituary

Jean Ellen Pittman, 82, of Washington peacefully passed on Sunday, January 25th, 2026

She was born on August 21, 1943, the daughter of the late Samuel and Lena Rossi Caruso. She was a 1961 graduate of Carnegie High School. She was employed by Intermediate Unit 1as a paraprofessional in special education at Washington Park and Clark School. Jean was a member of Educational Support Personnel and National Education Association. A devoted member of St. Hillary Roman Catholic Church she taught Sunday school and was a Eucharistic Minister.

Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jon Ray Pittman, beloved son, Jon Michael Pittman, sister, Gerri Ellenberger (Don) brother, Bob Caruso (Ann), brother-in-law, Paul Seiber, nieces and nephews, Leigh Manzare (Larry), Kristi Ellengberger, Lara Ellenberger, Don Ellengerger, Dina Seiber, Paul Seiber (Heather), Rob Caruso (Terry) Erin Caruso Buchanon (David), and many great nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by many dear friends.

Preceded in death by her beloved son, Ray Samuel Pittman, and sister, Patty Seiber.

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Friday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington, PA. Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Saturday February 7, 2026 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. in St. Hilary Church in Washington. Interment will follow in West Pointe Cemetery in Avella.
