“ Loving wife, mother, and grandmother”

On Wednesday December 30, 2015, Joanne M. Bellhy passed away peacefully in Evergreen Assisted Living in Washington at the age of 86.

She was born March 8, 1929 in Washington the daughter of Pietro and Angeline Montecalvo Provenzano.

Throughout her life, Joanne M. Bellhy deeply cared for her family.  It was this nurturing manner, and deep, abiding love and concern for her husband, children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers and nieces and nephews which made her extra special.   In addition to nurturing her immediate family she enjoyed babysitting for family and friends where her love poured out. Among other things she treasured visits with her sisters, Palma, Sylvia, friend, Rose Magnone, and brother Bob. Faith and family became her legacy.

Mrs. Bellhy was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington where she expressed her love of music by singing in the church choir. She volunteered for various church functions, including helping with bookkeeping for the former pastor, Rev. Stanley Zolnierzak.

She had a kind and gentle spirit and loved watching her grandchildren grow up and enjoyed attending all of their events, or simply going out with them for ice cream.

On December 2, 1950 in St. Hilary Church, she married the love of her life Thomas J. Bellhy who passed away February 27, 2011.

Surviving are two sons Thomas P. (Jan) Bellhy of McDonald, with whom she made her home in recent years, and Michael R. (Grace) Bellhy of Washington who also helped care for her.

Also surviving are two sisters Palma (Dan) Lucero of Washington and Sylvia Knodle of Poland, OH and two brothers Robert (Patty) Provenzano of Washington and Edward Provenzano of Washington, seven grandchildren, Michael (fiancée Samantha) Bellhy, Kaylee (Nate) Harvey, Zach Bellhy, Nate Bellhy, Beka Bellhy, Rachel Bellhy and Tina Bellhy and three great grandchildren Alex and Emma Harvey and Brayden Bellhy.
