Josephine Vincent, 85, of Canonsburg died Wednesday March 11, 2015 in Townview Nursing Home in Canonsburg.
She was born November 29, 1929 in Toledo, OH the daughter of Salvatore and Carmela Lattuca Vincent.
She was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and then began working at the Washington County Courthouse, eventually becoming Jury Commissioner.
She then started her career as a beautician and worked at her brother Perry’s Beauty Salon in Washington, PA. She was very active politically with the Democratic Party in Washington County.
Miss Vincent enjoyed gambling at the casinos and loved dancing.
Miss Vincent was the last of her immediate family.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews Samuel (Lois) Laury of McLean, VA, Carmeline (James) Moody of Williamsburg, VA, Carmala (Doug) Walgren of Frederick, MD, Joseph R. Vincent of Richmond, VA, Betsy (Eric) Hoffman of New Market, MD, Alisa (Rick) Paul of Council Grove, KS, Sam (Pam) Vincent of San Angelo, TX, Gina (Abby) Fialo of Miami, FL and Terry Vincent of Alaska. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Her family is eternally greatful for her very dear friend whom she loved, Roseanne “Cookie” Ianni, who would care for Josephine out of the kindness of her heart.
She was preceded in death by one sister Frances Laury, and three brothers Joseph, Perry and John Vincent.
Friends will be received from 12-2 p.m.and 4-6 p.m. Sunday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College St. in Canonsburg, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday March 16, 2015 in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
