Lillian Louise Sammartino Senkinc, 89, of Canonsburg passed away Sunday January 10, 2016 in Country Meadows Nursing Home in Bridgeville.
She was born April 3, 1926 in Canonsburg the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Schicilone Sammartino.
During her youth she attended Canonsburg Schools.
Mrs. Senkinc was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Christian Mothers of St. Patrick Church, Orchard Lakes Ladies Auxiliary, Greater Italian American Association, S.N.P.J. Lodge 138, and Numerous Bowling Leagues.
She loved baking her favorite Pizzelles and dancing.
Lillian and her husband John had a Cub Scout Troop from St. Genevieve’s Church in Canonsburg which they both loved.
Her husband John Senkinc whom she married in 1950 died in 2001.
Surviving is a daughter JoAnn (David) Wolff of Dormont and a son John (Judy) Senkinc of Greensboro, a brother Joe (Rita) Sammartino seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister Edith Plants and a grandson Matthew Senkinc.
Friends will be received from 2- 4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College Street in Canonsburg where departing prayers will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday January 14, 2016 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Roman Catholic at 317 West Pike Street in Canonsburg.
