Margaret Rose (Bosick) Veltri

Margaret Rose “Toots” Veltri, 90, of Washington passed away Monday August 12, 2024 in Woodside at Southmont in Washington.

Family gatherings, dancing with her husband Gene and an active social life with family and friends were the greatest joys of her life.

She was born September 29, 1933 in Weirton, WV a daughter of the late Stephen and Doris Machak Bosnick.

Mrs. Veltri was a member of St. Hilary Church in Washington for many years where she was an active Christian Mother.  She was a past secretary of the Vittoria Lodge ISDA in Washington, and worked the annual bowling event to benefit the Special Olympics for many years. She also enjoyed playing Bingo.

The family would like to thank the staff at Woodside at Southmont and Amedysis Hospice for their kindness and exceptional care, with a special thanks to Jackie, Brad and Paula who kept us in touch during the pandemic and have always gone above and beyond.

On November 12, 1955 in Our Lady of Lords Church in Burgettstown, she married Eugene R. Veltri who preceded her in death on February 27, 1992.

Surviving are two children Kathleen (David) Thompson of Washington and Stephen Veltri also of Washington; three grandchildren Corey (Elizabeth) Thompson, Eric (Jessica) Thompson and Stephanie (Nicholas) Veltri Putman; three great-grandchildren Violet Thompson, Iris Thompson and Lettie Roze Putman.  Also surviving are many Nieces, Nephews, and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by three children during infancy; Ralph, Christopher and Joseph Veltri, and a brother John (Louise) Bosick.

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington.  A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Friday August 16, 2024 in the funeral home with Father Ed Yuhas, followed by burial in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Peters Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
