Mary M. Cook, 93, of Washington died Friday January 8, 2016 in Transitions Health Care in Washington.
She was born February 20, 1922 in Ellsworth the daughter of John and Sophia Saniga.
Mrs. Cook was a graduate of Bentleyville High School.
She was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington and a member of St. Patrick Parish Women’s Guild who enjoyed cooking and dancing and spending time with her loving family.
Western Center employed her as an Occupational Therapist for eighteen years.
Her husband James A. Cook died in January of 1979.
Surviving are two sons James A. (Beth Ann) Cook Jr. of Canonsburg and Robert A. Cook of Washington and two sisters Veronica Watkins of Ellsworth and Dolores (William) Kooser of Scenery Hill. Also surviving is a grandson Lawrence James Cook, Jr. and three great grandchildren Hanna Cook, Quentin Cook and Chloe Cook, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons Lawrence James Cook and Randall Jeffrey Cook, a sister Clara Saniga and three brothers Cyril, Methodius and Eugene Saniga.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Ave. in Washington. Departing prayers will be held in the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Monday January 11, 2016 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington with Rev. Thomas D. O’Neil as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Canonsburg.
