Matthew J. Frantz, 62, of Washington passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday September 19, 2023.
He was born March 16, 1961 in Washington a son of the late John “Jack” Frantz and Marie Burnfield Frantz who resides in Florida.
Mr. Frantz was a graduate of Trinity High School Class of 1980.
He enjoyed target shooting, fishing, and Steelers Football. He also enjoyed carpentry projects and teaching his grandchildren skills. He loved joking around and called himself “Mad Matt”
Wright Flagging employed him as a signal operator. He was also previously employed as an oil field worker working for Mark West.
On April 18, 1980 he married Diane Lynn Ashton Frantz who survives. Surviving is a daughter Joy Frantz of Washington, six grandchildren Robbie Welsh, Kye Frantz, Karson Frantz Welsh, Nico Welsh, Khoi Welsh, and Josiah Welsh, and one great grand-daughter Lilah Frantz. Also surviving are two sisters Kathy Warren and Jackie Sehres both of Florida; and his nieces and nephews; Jennifer and Jonyelle Kreider, Tiffany Dahmen, Jessica Campbell, Lou McAnany and Josh Elway. Surviving is his childhood best friend, "his brother from another mother", Joseph "Bill" Kelley.
Deceased are two sisters Elaine McAnany and Jennifer Frantz and a nephews BJ Diesel.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 Friday in Dale D. DeAngelo funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday September 23, 2023 with Pastor Steve Parkhill officiating.
