Nevin VanRiper

Nevin George VanRiper, 68, of Washington passed away Sunday August 4, 2024, in the Donnell House.

He was born April 17, 1956, in Sellersville, PA.  He was the son of Reba “Nadine” VanRiper of Washington and the late Reverend George E. VanRiper.

He loved music and played the bass guitar in several local bands.  He, along with his band had the opportunity to open for country legend George Jones.  Nevin loved Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was very patriotic, loved his country and he loved God.

As an over the road trucker, he had the opportunity to visit forty-eight states of the United States.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife Jacqueline Pettit VanRiper.

Surviving is his daughter and care giver, Lindsey and (Fiancé’ Javier Navarrete) VanRiper, a brother Calvin “Scot” (Wendy) VanRiper of Washington and sister-in-law Melanie Jo Isler of Fayetteville, NC.

Also surviving are three grandchildren Mikiya VanRiper, Navon VanRiper and Braedyn Rhodes, several step-children, step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Craig LaRue VanRiper.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 17, 2024, in DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington.  A memorial Service will immediately follow the gathering at 2:00 in the funeral home with Rev. Frank Menhart officiating.
