Ralph E. Wilkins, Sr., 87, of Canonsburg died Monday August 9, 2015 in Canonsburg Hospital.
He was born November 7, 1927 in Florence, Pa the son of William Henry and Doris Blanche Starr Wilkins.
Following High School, Mr. Wilkins worked as a jackhammer operator on the railroad.
He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War and Vietnam.
During his military service he was a bridge specialist in the Army Corps of Engineers.
On April 28, 1966 in Atlasburg, PA he married Shirley Shotis Wilkins who survives.
Surviving are two sons Ralph Earl Brown of Burgettstown and Ralph Earl Wilkins, Jr. of Waynesburg and two daughters Cindy Brooks and Patricia Wilkins of Washington. Also surviving are three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mr. Wilkins was the last of his immediate family of twenty brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received from 12:30 to 1:30 Monday August 24, 2015 In Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College St. in Canonsburg the time and place of service. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with full military honors by the United States Army and the VFW Post #191 of Canonsburg.
