Raymond R. "Pete" Roupe

Raymond R. “Pete” Roupe, 92, of Washington passed away Tuesday April 11, 2023 in Premier of Washington Health Center.

He was born February 21, 1931 in Washington a son of the late Raymond and Juanita Cole Roupe.

 Pete enjoyed collecting, especially clocks, and going to flea markets.

Universal Cyclops employed him as a steel worker and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania employed him as a Maintenance Worker at highway rest stops.

His wife Patty Sampson Roupe passed away April 24, 2001.

Surviving are seven children Raymond “Petey” (Lynn) Roupe, Ronnie (Becky) Roupe, Sherry (Gary) Hatfield, Cindy (Carl) Anderson, Terri McKinney, Lori (Jeff) McKinney, and John Sampson, and a sister Marylu Williams of Bellflower, CA.

Also surviving are twenty-two grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters Evelyn Poland and Juanita Moore, and one brother Paul Roupe, a grand-daughter Kammie Roupe and a great grand-daughter Rylie Hazen.

The family would like to thank Premier of Washington Health Care Center staff and Bridges Hospice staff for the care they provided during Pete’s declining health.

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday April 14, 2023 in the Funeral Home with Rev. Sue Petritis officiating.  Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
