Robert A. Thompson, 77, of Washington died Sunday April 23, 2023 in his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born February 11, 1946 in Washington a son of the late Roger and Patricia Carlton Thompson.
Mr. Thompson worked earlier in his life as a long-distance truck driver, then for Bruno’s Plumbing. He then became self-employed with his own business, Bob Thompson & Son Plumbing, until his retirement.
He enjoyed golfing, but his real joy was spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.
On March 9, 1966 in Washington, he married Judy Chicora. Mrs. Thompson survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert (Erin) Thompson and James Thompson, both of Washington, two daughters, Chantel (Don) Chambers of Casselberry, FL and Nichole Thompson of Washington; two brothers, Roger (Patricia) Thompson of Amity and Thomas (Debbie) Thompson of Washington; Five Sisters Patricia Brewer and Rebecca (Rick) Livingood, both of Washington, Connie Hanning of West Virginia, and Cindy Schneider and Candy Hughey, both of Washington, eleven grandchildren Brittnie Sue, Nicky My, Chicka-Na-Na, Spike, Jake the Snake, Susie, Stella, Ida Mae, Bow-wow, Beulah, and Bertha; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter-in-law, Jamie Thompson and several other brothers-in-law’s who are missed dearly.
Friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington. All other services will be private.
