Ruth E. Strawn, 91, of Washington passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 16, 2016 in Southmont Presbyterian Home.
She was born October 12, 1924 in Washington the daughter of Julius and Bessie Frazee.
Mrs. Strawn was proud to be a member of the Ladies Red Hat Society. She enjoyed cross-stitching, knitting and crocheting, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving are three sons Robert Strawn of Washington, Raymond (Victoria) Strawn of Canonsburg and Roland (Robin) Strawn of Washington, and a sister Florence (Joe) Iams of Gainesville, FL. Also surviving are five grandchildren Brian and Shannon Strawn and Courtney, Shane and Shawn Carroll and many great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons Richard and Paul, Jr. Strawn and two sisters Gladys Cline and Marjorie “Dutch” Johns.
A memorial gathering will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Thursday February 18, 2016 in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Ave. in Washington. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
Interment of Ruth, her late husband Paul and late son Richard will be held at 1:30 Monday February 29, 2016 in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at which time a full military rite will be accorded for Paul Strawn, Sr. by the United States Army and the American Legion Post 175 of Washington.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
