William Rosser "Bill" Beckner

William Rosser “Bill” Beckner, 81, of Washington passed away Saturday February 15, 2025 following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born August 26, 1943 in Washington a son of the late Marshall and Margaret Beckner.

Bill was a self-employed sign painter, owner of “Bill Beckner Painter of Signs”.  He specialized in gold leaf painting on signs and fire trucks.

He enjoyed playing guitar and was passionate about hand crafting cigar box and acoustic guitars.

He loved to ride his motorcycle and participated in the “Blue Ride” every year.

On February 5, 1962 in Buckhanon, WV he married Margaret “Peg” Beighle who preceded him in death on June 5, 2021.

Surviving are two children Michael Beckner and Victoria Ratzlaff (Kelly);  seven grandchildren Jessica Lemley, Nikki Borzel, Amanda Ratzlaff, Jacqueline Ratzlaff, William Ratzlaff, Adam Beckner (Jessica) and Jordan Beckner (Suzanne); and two sisters Regina Bonus and Nancy Fountain.  Also surviving are fifteen great-grandchildren Maddison Hanna, Kayden Bonus, Aliyah Lemley, Cody Hanning, Jr., Isabella Stewart, Lyric Loughman, Nakoma Hanning, Ryder Loughman, Oakley Loughman, Maverick Loughman, Isabella Ostrander, Loki Ratzlaff, Abigail Beckner, Raleigh Beckner and Ryland Beckner and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Judy Beckner, a son Jerry Beckner, a brother Kenny Hamilton (Sue), and a sister Peggy Armstrong (Wayne).

Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00  AND 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. both Wednesday AND Thursday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 1290 Jefferson Avenue in Washington.  Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday February 21, 2025 in the funeral home with Rev. Eric Toohey officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens in McMurray.  A tribute wall is available at www.deangelocare.com.
