Stella A. “Dolly” Mondik, 90, of Canonsburg passed away Friday September 16, 2016.
She was born October 17, 1925 in Canonsburg the daughter of Abraham Michael and Anna Ullom Mason.
Mrs. Mondik graduated from Canonsburg High School and then took a job at Pollock Shoe Store in Canonsburg.
She loved being a homemaker and grandmother, enjoyed playing cards, and jacks.
Mrs. Mondik and her sister loved to sing Christian songs and Christmas Carols and sang hymns that honored her Lord Jesus. She would sing on Canonsburg radio station WARO.
She was a member of Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church and The Kings Daughters Christian Organization and volunteered at Canonsburg Hospital for several years.
On June 28, 1946 she married Frank R. Mondik who passed away April 7, 2002.
Surviving is her daughter Melanie (Bob) Tappe of Penn Hills and one son Robert (Jan) Mondik of Round Rock TX and a daughter in law Carla Ruhe Mondik of McMurray.
Also surviving is a brother Lee R. Mason of Houston, five grandchildren Eric Mondik, Brian Petras, Matthew Tappe, Larry Mondik and Lori Mondik and five great grandchildren Zachary, Tyler, Brody, Blake and Kadin and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Deceased in addition to her husband is a son Richard F Mondik, brothers John Halbert and James E. Mason and a sister Elizabeth Mason Matyas.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home at 194 East College Street in Canonsburg where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday September 21, 2016.
